Aufguss - Foundations Course Victoria, BC

🌿 Course Outline

Day 1

9:30 AM — Welcome & Sauna Introduction

• Arrival and orientation at Ærth Saunas
• Guided sauna session with an Aufguss by Viki

10:30 AM — Theory Session I (2 hrs)

• Origins of Aufguss and its cultural roots
• The structure of a sauna ritual: rhythm, scent, and heat
• Introduction to essential oils and the basics of infusion

12:30 PM — Lunch Break

• Nourishing wraps, sandwiches, and snacks provided
• Coffee and tea service in the room

1:30 PM — Movement Practice & Theory

• Guest experience and safety principles
• How to create atmosphere: scent layering, light, and pacing
• The role of the Aufguss Master as a host

4:30 PM — Sauna Time

• Return to the sauna for a closing group Aufguss
• Reflection and discussion

Day 2

9:30 AM - Movement practice

11:00 AM - Essential Oils

12:30 PM - Lunch & Assignment to create first Aufguss: we will guide you to create an aufguss of your own

2 PM onwards - Participant Aufgusses

Closing circle by 5PM

👥 Meet Your Instructor

Viktoria Csanicz

Viki grew up in the bathing culture of Hungary, where sauna was a way of life - practical, grounding, and deeply communal. Her first encounter with Aufguss came at 19, long before towel waving entered the picture. Something shifted then - what began as a simple ritual became a lifelong fascination with heat, scent, and human connection.

Now, as the founder of Ærth Saunas and a certified Aufguss Master since 2024, Viki brings that passion home. Her ceremonies are known for their distinct energy, playful scent combination, smoke rituals & use of herbs, creating worlds within the sauna.
